Tick and Mosquito Control Services

Are you finding ticks on your clothing after spending time in the yard? Have you noticed more mosquitoes hovering around your patio or fire pit in the evenings? In the Lakes Region and Central New Hampshire, tick activity has steadily increased over the past several years.

Tick and Mosquito Control Services in the Lakes Region and Central New Hampshire

Milder winters and longer warm seasons mean ticks are emerging earlier in the spring and remaining active well into the fall. Across New Hampshire, residents are encountering ticks more frequently along wooded edges, in tall grass, near stone walls, and in areas with regular wildlife activity. Anyone who spends time outdoors, whether gardening, relaxing on the patio, or walking pets, has reason to be concerned about the health risks associated with tick bites, including Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses.

The most common ticks in New Hampshire include:

  • Blacklegged Ticks (Deer Ticks) are the primary carrier of Lyme disease in New England. They can also transmit Anaplasmosis and Babesiosis, which can affect both people and pets.

  • American Dog Ticks are often found in grassy and open areas.

  • Lone Star Ticks are not yet common locally, but occasional sightings have been reported as their range expands north.

Many of our customers have personal experience with Lyme disease or know someone who has been affected. This growing concern has led to an increase in tick-related service calls across the Lakes Region and Central New Hampshire.

TickGuard Plus Seasonal Treatment Program

Our TickGuard Plus program is a seasonal residential service designed to significantly reduce tick populations throughout the spring and summer months.

Treatments are scheduled every three weeks beginning in April, for a total of nine treatments per season. Each application provides approximately three weeks of protection, ensuring continuous coverage during peak tick activity.

During service, we target high-risk areas, including:

  • Tree lines and wooded edges

  • Home foundations and property perimeters

  • Under decks and sheds

  • Around patios, fire pits, and sitting areas

  • Children’s play spaces

  • Customer-identified hot spots

We offer both traditional and natural/organic treatment options, allowing you to choose the approach that best fits your comfort level.

Most people begin noticing a reduction in tick activity within a few weeks of the first treatment. When maintained throughout the season, TickGuard Plus is highly effective at keeping tick populations low and protecting outdoor living spaces.

We recommend this service for:

  • Families with children

  • Pet owners

  • Homes near wooded areas

  • Properties with tall grass or frequent wildlife activity

  • Anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors

To prepare for service, we ask that you mow tall grass, remove brush and debris, and clear clutter from treatment areas to maximize effectiveness.

Mosquito Reduction as a Secondary Benefit

While TickGuard Plus is primarily designed for tick control, some mosquito reduction may occur as a secondary benefit. Treatments are applied every three weeks throughout the season.

Mosquito activity is influenced by several environmental factors, including:

  • Standing water (e.g., birdbaths, ponds, gutters)

  • Heavy rainfall

  • Dense shrubs and shaded vegetation

  • Neighboring untreated properties

  • Proximity to lakes or wooded areas

Because mosquitoes travel from surrounding areas and breed quickly, full mosquito control can be more challenging than tick control. For this reason, mosquito reduction is considered an added benefit of the TickGuard Plus program but is not guaranteed, as the program is designed primarily for tick control.
